A HAMPTONS style cottage with its own pool and jetty overlooking the Hawkesbury River has just hit the market — but there is one small catch.
The three bedroom property at Little Wobby, located between Hornsby and Gosford, can only be accessed by boat.
Agent Andrew Searle from Belle Property Hornsby said the unique address hasn’t turned off potential buyers with a high number of inquiries for the waterfront home.
A lot of properties on the river need a lot of work, whereas this one is renovated, move straight in and it is a beautiful location looking back to Dangar Island,’’ he said.
And not many of them have a pool.
I can’t remember the last time I had such a response to a property — I would have had over 80 inquiries for the first week on the market.’’
The fully renovated cottage, which has been listed with a price guide of $940,000 to $1.04m, has previously been used as a weekender and for holiday lettings.
It can earn $1200 for two nights accommodation during peak periods.
Its features include timber floorboards, a large deck for entertaining and modern kitchen.
Just in case potential buyers were wondering how they move into the property — it is being sold fully furnished.
According to CoreLogic RP Data, a neighbouring property at Lot 2 Hawkesbury River currently holds the suburb record after it sold for $1.4625m back in August 2005.
There around 80 dwellings at Little Wobby and around half of the community live there permanently.
While it can be difficult selling boat-access only property, Mr Searle said many buyers see it as an opportunity to own their sanctuary.
Most people know that the properties on the river are boat access only so to them it’s a nice getaway — it is just a completely different lifestyle,’’ he said.
